Report on access to specialist palliative care

21-08-2020

Report no. 18/2019

The purpose of the study is to assess whether patients, when required, have access to specialist palliative care.

It is Rigsrevisionen's assessment that the regions have not adequately ensured that patients, when required, have access to specialist palliative care, which may have the consequence that the patients' symptoms are not effectively relieved towards the end of their life. This diminishes the quality of the patients' life and places an unnecessary burden on their relatives.

Rigsrevisionen initiated the study in October 2019.
