This report concerns how a number of Danish government institutions protect confidential data on persons and companies like, for instance, data on health, tax or criminal records. The implementation of e-government has made it increasingly important to protect these data, since it may have far-reaching implications for the persons and companies involved, if they are abused. The purpose of the study is therefore to assess whether confidential data on persons and companies are adequately protected by the government bodies.
The report is based on IT audits carried out in connection with the annual audit in the spring 2014. Rigsrevisionen initiated the study.
