Report on effective use of the working hours of upper secondary school teachers

18-04-2012

Report no. 11/2011

The report addresses how general upper secondary schools and vocational upper secondary schools deploy teachers. The study included the Agency for the Modernisation of Public Administration under the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Children and Education.

The objective of the study was twofold: 1) To determine how much time upper secondary school teachers spend teaching, the development in teaching time, differences in teaching time across the upper secondary education programmes, and how much time Danish teachers spend teaching compared to the other OECD member countries. 2) To assess whether the upper secondary schools use teachers to their full benefit.

Rigsrevisionen initiated the study at the request of the Public Accounts Committee.
