The report is about the Danish Defence's acquisition and implementation of 14 EH-101 helicopters. The background for the report is a request from the Public Accounts Committee based on a memorandum from the Auditor General in May 2008 on the same topic. In the memorandum Rigsrevisionen accounted for several important issues pertaining to the Danish Defence's acquisition and implementation of the EH-101 helicopters and the problems relating to the fact that the EH-101 helicopters have not been available for operations to the extent expected.
The EH-101 helicopters are designed for search and rescue operations and transport.
Rigsrevisionen has examined whether the Danish Defence has managed the acquisition and implementation of the EH-101 helicopters in a satisfactory manner. Rigsrevisionen has also examined whether the Danish Ministry of Defense has informed the Folketing (Danish parliament) about the acquisition and implementation of the EH-101 helicopters.
