The report deals with the Danish Defence’s acquisition and phasing out of the unmanned aerial vehicle the Kestrel during the period 1995-2006 and is prepared on the basis of the Public Accounts Committee’s request for a report and evaluation of the course of events.
Against this background, the NAOD has examined and evaluated:

the Defence’s contract with the supplier and the related follow-up

the initiatives taken by the Defence to secure implementation of the project

the Defence’s basis for phasing out the system.
