The report examines the Ministry of Transport and Energy’s review of Rail Net Denmark and the financial management of Rail Net Denmark on the basis of irregularities in 7 matters , which the Minister of Transport and Energy presented for the Parliamentary Finance Committee in the period 2003-2005.
The report reviews the events in each of the 7 matters and sheds light on why appropriation rules have not been kept. On that background, the report assesses the Ministry of Transport and Energy’s administration and review of Rail Net Denmark as well as the Minister of Transport and Energy’s information to the Parliamentary Finance Committee in April 2005. The report assesses at the same time the financial management of Rail Net Denmark. The examination further assesses the changes, which have been implemented by the Ministry of Transport and Energy and Rail Net Denmark, in order to prevent equivalent irregularities in the future.
The examination refers to previous examinations carried out by the National Audit Office of Denmark of Rail Net Denmark and of the Ministry of Transport and Energy, which was reported in examination number 14/01 on the Rain Net Denmark (June 2002) and respectively on the Ministry of Transport and Energy’s corporate management (September 2004).
