The report is about the investment in the PhD education, i.e. the decision made by the Folketing to double the intake of PhD students gradually over the years 2005 to 2012 and establish PhD schools.
The objective of the study has been to assess the progress of the implementation of the PhD investment. The report provides answers to the following three questions: 1. Have the universities and the Ministry of Science implemented the PhD investment? 2. Are the PhD schools focused on improving the quality of the PhD education and the completion rate? And 3. Has the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation prepared and followed up on the investment in the PhD education?
