Report on remuneration for members of government bodies

26-01-2011

Report no. 3/2010

The report is about remuneration for government employees serving on government bodies such as councils, boards, commissions, committees, etc. The background for the examination is the fact that the rules governing remuneration for members of government bodies are complicated, and Rigsrevisionen's ongoing audits of payroll have demonstrated a considerable risk of error in the area.

Rigsrevisionen has selected six ministries for the examination of whether government employees serving on government bodies are paid in accordance with the circular and guideline currently in force. The audit has also been focused on whether the ministries ensure the relation between the payment made to the members and the workload. Finally, Rigsrevisionen has examined whether the Ministry of Finance has followed up on the application of the circular.

Rigsrevisionen took the initiative to the examination in April 2010 and data were collected in the period April to September 2010.
