Report on the local authorities' employment initiatives directed at social assistance recipients

20-05-2009

Report no. 12/2008

The report is about the initiatives taken by the local job centres to provide jobs for social assistance recipients (citizens with no unemployment insurance). Rigsrevisionen has examined whether the job centres ensure that social assistance recipients are offered the job programmes they are entitled to and required to participate in. Special focus has been on whether social assistance recipients are offered employment interviews and jobs on time, and whether the assessments of work availability conducted by the local authorities are in compliance with the regulations.

The report also examines whether the 300-hour rule is being administered correctly by the local authorities.

Finally, Rigsrevisionen has examined whether the Ministry of Employment's supervision of the job centre employment initiatives targeted at the social assistance recipients has been satisfactory.
